Tips for ski rental
These are a few simple tips to help you enjoy a relaxed and fun holiday |
| |
 |
Contrary
to common belief, your ski boot size should correspond
to that of your normal shoes. Boots which are too
big for you causes chaffing and blistering which in turn will
cause discomfort and imbalance.. |
 |
Always
fix the clips on your boots at the end of the day.
Never leave them to dry on a radiator as they will melt and
deform. |
 |
Woollen
socks are best to wear with ski boots (only wear
one pair). These should be pulled up all the way to above
the boot. |
 |
Your
bindings should be adjusted according to your weight,
height and build. |
 |
It
is dangerous to ski with poles which have
lost their disks. Please do not hesitate to change your poles
at the Skishop, should you have this problem. |
 |
Remember
that you’d rather be too warm than too cold in altitude
where, generally one’s body heat drops rapidly (especially
children). Drink lots of water continuously
as we dehydrate quite easily while we ski. |
 |
We
highly recommend that children wear helmets. |
 |
Snowblades
are not recommended for novice or nervous skiers. |
 |
Never
leave your ski equipment unattended. If you need
to stop, seperate your skis or cross-pair them with those
of a friend. |
 |
Before
you leave for a day out skiing, always ensure that
you, as well as your children, are equiped with a pair of
sun glasses, warm gloves, woolly hat, warm, dry clothes and
sun protection cream, even in cloudy weather. |
 |
If
you’re planning a long day out skiing, always
tell someone where you intend to go and what time
you plan to be back. |
 |
Never
follow existing tracks, even on « close »
off piste areas, they might lead absolutely nowhere... |
 |
Never
go off piste alone, injured or tired as you might
not be capable of calling for help in case of an accident. |
 |
Never
over estimate your own capacities, only use the pistes
adpated to your level; speed is only for those who know how
to control it. |
 |
Carefully
read and obey the security rules posted around the
resort and by lift pass offices. |
